How to vote in Missoula County.

Montana does not have statewide online voter registration. You complete a voter registration application from Vote Montana or at the Elections Center.

Because we are inside 30 days of the November 3 election, new registrations and most updates must be completed in person at 140 N. Russell St., Missoula, or at a county voter-services event. On the form, use a Montana driver’s license or state ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Regular registration closed at 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2026. Late registration is in person at the Missoula County Elections Center from October 6 through Election Day.

On Monday, November 2, the county pauses late registration from noon to 5:00 p.m. On Election Day, November 3, you can register at the Elections Center from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Check Missoula County Elections for voter-services events in Seeley Lake, Lolo, Frenchtown, on campus, and at Gray Wolf Peak.

Fill out a new voter registration application. Inside 30 days of an election, bring it in person to the Elections Center. If you moved to another Montana county, register with that county’s election office.

Use a black or blue pen. Place the voted ballot in the secrecy envelope, then the signature envelope. Sign, date, and write your birth year on the return envelope.

Mail it at least a week before Election Day, or drop it at the Elections Center or a designated ballot site. It must be received by 8:00 p.m. on November 3—not just postmarked. Track it in the voter portal.

Bring a current, readable photo ID: a Montana driver’s license or REAL ID, Montana state ID, U.S. passport, military ID, tribal photo ID, Montana concealed-carry permit, or a Montana University System / NAIA student photo ID.

If you do not have one of those, the county may accept a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government document that shows your name and current address. Ask an election judge if you are unsure.

Yes, if you are a U.S. citizen, will be 18 by Election Day, and have lived in Montana at least 30 days. Register with either your Missoula school address or your permanent home address—not both. It is illegal to vote in two places. Update your registration if you change addresses.
