Montana Family Foundation Score Card Event
Dick Pence – 406-672-9207
Below you will see Patrick Webb’s invitation to an event this THIS Monday, July 14th. It will be held at Emmanual Baptist Church in Billings at 6:30pm. I urge you to clear your schedule and come in spite of the fact that it’s summer. The LEFT never goes on vacation and we should never stop working either.
Bring a friend who may not be paying attention, they will probably get a friendly dose of the TRUTH about what’s happening in Montana.
There will also be a panel discussion with some legislators and I perhaps some time for questions. I know that Sen. Tom McGillvray, the Senate Majority Leader is one of the panelists.
I am attaching the Foundations Score Card, not so you can skip this event, but so that you can study it carefully and ask questions.
There are some HUGE issues! (Authors note – I believe in forgiveness, right after accountability )
- How did YOUR Legislator or ones who claimed to be conservative vote?
- Notice that only 3 Democrats in the House and Senate scored a 7 out of 100 the rest scored ZERO. The Progressives do not support issue of LIFE, Parental Rights, school choice, Limiting TRANS power etc.
- Of this Legislation, what’s tied up in the courts?
- What is the status of SB437 that passed the Senate and House, but no note of a Governor’s signature? “Defines “sex”, “male”, and “female” in Montana law based on biological characteristics at birth.” (Sen. Carl Glimm, Kalispell)
- And, I will add just two examples of what happens when this “sausage is being made” and you’re not paying attention. Issues that are nor clearly on the score card – details they couldn’t include. When the sausage is made, lots of things are hidden:
- HB 557 Failed on 3rd reading in the Senate. This bill would not allow state-funding for teachers to attend professional training that was political in nature and not focused on quality of instruction. All 9 of the Republicans who joined the Democrats the first week of the session voted NO on this bill – Lodge, Vance, Ellsworth, Gillespie, Kassmier, Lammers, McKamey, Hunter and Temple. Do you know about the 9?
- MORE Republican Dissidents: SB299 (Attached) carried by Sen. John Fuller was tabled in Committee but the Devil(s) are in the details. This bill was a parent’s right bill relative to their child’s education on the order of “OPT IN”, but what you don’t see on the score card is that this bill also (as with all things John Fuller) in page 1 line 28 to page 2 line 3 of the attached bill parents had to be “notified promptly” and provide consent before their child would be lodged on a trip with a child of the opposite sex and that would include a TRANS person. During the House Education Committee hearing on this bill (where it failed). The Chair of the committee, Linda Reksten, an R from Polson and former Superintendent of Schools, started the committee hearing on a Friday, two hours late with less than an hour before they had to be back on the floor – probably not all her fault. She then scheduled SB299 last knowing they would not have time for a good hearing. Sen. Fuller offered to come back at a later time, but Reksten said no, they could not do it on Monday knowing full well that the committee had nothing scheduling the following Wednesday – they did not meet that Tuesday. So, this huge bill was heard in committee for about 15 minutes and later voted down after flying through the Senate Education committee and the Senate floor 31-19. But Reksten was not the only R that was guilty. There were 9Rs and 6 Ds on the committee. Several of the Rs did not show for the hearing. The bill was tabled 15-0 with half the Rs not even being at the hearing. There was some BS about a better bill coming out of the House. Notably, five Rs on the committee had low overall scores. Reksten 87, Bertoglio 80, Melissa Nikolakakos 60 and Billings own Sherry Essman dead last at 60 – lowest of all the Rs. – Notably, Rep. Reksten also voted AGAINST Sen Fuller’s SB164 that would have prohibited altering a child’s sex that failed on the House floor after passing the Senate 30 to 20 and the House Judiciary committee. She also voted against SB474 that passed the Senate and failed in the House. Bottom Line? This Republican does not favor parental rights or protecting kids from TRANS issues.
- Just a small taste of what happens while you’re not watching.
