Candidate Profile: HD91 – David "Doc" Moore
Citing the Montana Legislature’s need to focus on jobs and the needs of working families, David J. “Doc” Moore has announced his candidacy for House District 91, representing southeastern Missoula County.
Moore, running as a Republican, is a Great Falls native and 28-year resident of Missoula, with a 30-year career in automotive repair. He is currently employed by TireRama. Moore has lived in East Missoula for 24 years.
“As a native son of Montana, I have watched for too long the decline of personal freedoms, job opportunities, natural resources and access to public lands,” Moore said in announcing his candidacy Monday. “No longer does the voice of reason govern. The will of the people is now decided by special interest groups, many funded from outside of the state to impose their own ideas of what Montana should become.”
He said that, if elected, jobs and the interests of working families and small business owners would be his principal focus.
“Currently, property, business and other taxes are driving companies out of state. The jobs replacing them are not high paying, nor do they create the type of interconnected businesses that manufacturing and industry spark in a community,” Moore said.
Moore has degrees in business and organizational communications from the University of Montana. He has worked in the automotive repair industry for 30 years as a technician and manager. (Via the Missoulian)
